How is wheel convergence measured?

The technician in practice works to ensure that the axis of the car and that of the individual wheels are parallel, this is possible by operating on three measurements, the first indicates (looking at the car from above) if the wheels are pointing inwards o to the outside, while the other two indicate (with front-rear and side views) whether the tires are inclined and how far towards the inside or outside of the car or with respect to the vertical axis of the suspension.
All this is possible because a projector is installed for each individual wheel as well as performing the fundamental compensation maneuver to eliminate any defect generated by the most trivial of errors or the crooked circle.

What is convergence?

The convergence or wheel geometry, adjusts the angles of each wheel with the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. Proper tire alignment is essential for regular rolling and preventing premature tire wear.
But what are the practical consequences of a mismatching or a redoing convergence?
First and foremost a tendency for the car to continue normally straight but with a twisted steering wheel, secondly, the occurrence of a greater anomalous tire consumption in the inner or outer part of the tire. If you are in the presence of one of these "alarm bells" it is therefore advisable to go to your authorized tire dealer and make a convergence, you will find a latest generation computerized equipment that will examine the tires and correct any defects in angle.

What is the PFU? End-of-life tires

By replacing the tires on our vehicles, we will surely have noticed that an environmental contribution has been added for a few years, guaranteeing proper disposal.
After several years the attention of the European Union, and of Italy, on the subject only materialized in 2011, with Decree n. 82 of 11 April 2011, which deals with the problem decisively.
The decree includes the obligations of the producer, the distributor, the end user and the final disposal of the product now exhausted or recovered from vehicles being demolished.
Tires are no longer thrown into landfills, but recovered by dedicated companies, for proper disposal and processing. All this to avoid the accidental or intentional incineration of tires that release highly carcinogenic dioxins.
The amount of the ELT is variable in amount for each type of vehicle and moped and each year is revised based on the collection made during the current year.
The contribution must be paid by the purchaser even if he does not have to dispose of the tires immediately (for example when buying winter tires).

What is balancing?

Balancing literally means putting the entire wheels, rim and tire, "in balance" so as to make the rotation homogeneous at any speed. Even a slight imbalance can cause annoying steering wheel vibrations and increased tire wear. To get around this, our center uses real extra weights (a few grams at the most) which, when glued to specific points in the circle according to the indications of a particular machine, ensure that the rotation of the wheel is perfect.
